What is your solution, keep burning oil until we run out and our economy collapses because of it? 

And if we want a short term solution, it would be to regulate the speculation on oil futures which is driving up the cost of oil past the issues of supply and demand.

If we get rid of all regulations on drilling, we might save 20 cents on gas per gallon 10 years down the line, so it is neither a short term or a long term solution to the problem, just a feel good measure to make it seem like congress is really doing something when it&#039;s not.&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
